Jill Spradley builds future-facing spaces for highly creative, considerate humans.
Just kidding. Can you imagine?
Don’t make me build a space. I can barely walk through a door without hitting the frame. Nah, I’m just a copywriter and creative director.
Speaking of spaces, I can’t get rid of the extra space above this paragraph so I guess we’re both gonna have to just live with it. Anyways, keep scrolling for some work. Shortcutz: Luma / PDI / Cortland / Apollo Tires / AAA / PETA / Precision Tune Auto Center / University work / 💀
Created in conjunction with DE-YAN agency’s “Luma Dream Brief,” Theatre Night was selected as one of 21 finalist to compete at Cannes. Here’s a link from Ad Age about said brief. Ready to get paywall’d?
PDI is a high-end kitchen, bath and lighting store known for exceptional products and customer relationships. The “Make a Statement” campaign taps into the psychology of renovation while introducing an elevated aesthetic. Here’s the thing about Squarespace: I can’t put all these videos in a horizontal row. It just won’t let me.
See the work below in the horizontal scroll? That’s what I wanted to do with the videos. I am going to reiterate that Squarespace won’t allow me such a complicated, futuristic design choice when it comes to moving pictures.
Let’s take a break to read a short story. This one is called “Steve” and it was published in HAD magazine. I promise it is very short.
Cortland is an apartment community brand with over 200 locations nationwide. When they expressed a desire for a delightful spokesperson, we delivered a very small one with four legs. And an Australian accent, for some reason. Get ready for more scrolling!
Apollo Tires are custom designed to perform flawlessly on North American roads. Why? Because North American roads can be anything but flawless. You know what else can be anything but flawless? SQUARESPACE UX.
Poetry Break! Just kidding, this isn’t poems. It’s Two Poems, a short story that is not poems! Published by Rejection Letters.
No matter what life throws at you, AAA will be there with an answer, from roadside service to travel help and more. And to AAA, all your needs are pronounced the same way: Triple A. Oh, and sometimes there’s a goat. And a Jim Gaffigan.
Some writers group their personal writing in a section called “personal” or “just funnin’.” Not me. I force your eyes upon it by cramming it in the NEVERENDING SCROLL, which, I will remind you, is entirely Squarespace’s doing.
OK, let’s take the kind of wild turn that can only come from PETA. They wanted to challenge the normalization of animal skins in fashion. “Urban Outraged” used a fake fashion site selling products made from human skin to pressure Urban Outfitters’ brands to rethink animal-derived products.
The auto repair market is crowded, but few places offer such comprehensive service as Precision Tune Auto Care, who have been around forever and seen everything. Hey, it’s finally time for them to stand out.
Occasionally I help universities raise billions of dollars. For Texas A&M, this was the “Fearless on Every Front” advancement campaign. For UNC, the “For All Kind” advancement campaign. Each campaign reached their goal of over $4 billion, which is also the approximate cost of one year of hosting a site on Squarespace.
